Bubble in the Forest Café
📍 Nakhon Pathom, Sam Phran
A lakeside café west of Bangkok where you dine inside a private see-through geodesic bubble — a transparent dome set among palms and water that its fans compare to eating inside a snow globe or a Maldives villa.
An easy drive west of Bangkok in Sam Phran, this sprawling garden café leans all the way into escapism: alongside its ordinary tables sit a handful of large, transparent geodesic “bubble” domes on the water, where small groups can dine in air-conditioned, panoramic privacy surrounded by palms and lake.
Why It’s Interesting
Stepping into a clear dome for lunch is pure novelty — light pours in from every angle, the greenery wraps around you, and the effect (as regulars put it) is a bit like dining inside a snow globe. It’s unabashedly built for a good time and a good photo, and it’s a world away from the city just an hour up the road.
Getting There
It’s in Nakhon Pathom’s Sam Phran district, most easily reached by car or ride-hail. The bubble domes are the draw and need to be reserved ahead (often with a minimum spend); the wider café and grounds are open to drop-ins.
🐿️ Cinnamon was here
Field report
I saw a photograph of humans eating dinner inside a soap bubble and assumed trick photography. I owe that photographer an apology, which I am delivering here, in print.
Bubble in the Forest is a lakeside café west of Bangkok where each table sits inside its own transparent geodesic dome among the palms and the water. You are indoors and outdoors simultaneously — air-conditioned, but the herons can watch you eat. I pressed my face against the inside of the dome at a passing dragonfly and startled a waiter badly.
The humans book ahead and dress up for it; the photos are the point and the food knows its role. Come at golden hour. Being a snack inside a snow globe: recommended once.
